Considered the capital of the western Costa del Sol. Its privileged situation, at the foot of White Saw, in the first line of coast, provides a few climatic excellent conditions and great landscape beauty; being one of the most important tourist centers of Spain. Its origin goes back to the Roman epoch, of which archaeological abundant remains exist; in the same way, of the epoch it Arabic preserves two towers and the walls of the Castle; of the Christian epoch, in the old town, there preserves the Church of the Incarnation, the House of the Sheriff and the Hospital of God's San Juan.
The city offer a typical Andalusian flavor in the old town, with narrow alleys, whitewashed and shining houses, squares adorned of flowers. The old town has the walls of the fortress constructed by the Arabs in the century IX. It offers an intense commercial life where you can find the most many-colored establishments.
